Key Points for Single Screw Pump Selection

Time:2026-06-27

The selection of G-type single screw pumps mainly focuses on the following parameters:

Pressure Determination for G-Type Single Screw Pumps:

The output pressure of a single screw pump is determined by the number of stator stages (i.e., the number of leads of the stator):

1-stage: Working pressure of 0.6 MPa;

2-stage: Working pressure of 1.2 MPa;

4-stage: Working pressure of 2.4 MPa.

Due to variations in the conveyed media, the appropriate number of stator stages should be selected based on the required discharge pressure, especially when handling highly abrasive media.

Rotational Speed Selection for G-Type Single Screw Pumps:

Due to their structural characteristics, single screw pumps are mostly used to convey high-viscosity liquids and liquids containing solid particles. Therefore, the selection of rotational speed is crucial. The choice of speed is primarily based on the abrasiveness and viscosity of the conveyed medium.

Selection of Stator Rubber Material for G-Type Single Screw Pumps:

The stator of a single screw pump is a rubber product and also a wearing part. Its proper selection directly affects the stator's service life. Under normal conditions, the stator lasts for 3 to 6 months. If improperly selected, the rubber may detach from the steel tube or break into chunks.

Material Combination Selection:

Different material combinations are required depending on the properties of the conveyed medium.

Performance:

Generally, the performance tables or characteristic curves of single screw pumps are based on data using water at 20°C (with a viscosity of 1 cSt) as the medium. When conveying liquids with different viscosities, both the flow rate and shaft power will vary.

Shaft Seal:

Depending on specific requirements and the conveyed medium, either mechanical seals or packing seals can be used. These two sealing structures are interchangeable.

Pump Drive Modes:

Since single screw pumps are low-speed pumps, they can be driven in various ways. Common drive methods include direct coupling with low-speed motors (6-pole or 8-pole), gear-reducer motor drives, and continuously variable transmission (CVT) motor drives.
